Hello everyone! I am back with my concerns for public education series. Today, I am up to the letter Q. Q is for questionable conduct. It seems as though the education news section is now filled with acts of questionable conduct by teachers, administrators, and other school staff members. Several situations come to mind when I think of questionable conduct. The first case involves a teacher who took students on a field trip against the wishes of the administration. Each day our media is full of wrongdoing and acts of crime. It always seems to hit harder when the education systems are involved. We hope and expect that our education is one entity that we can keep pure and truthful. However as we all know this is not the case. Teachers Take Pay for Grades

How important are grades and doing well in school? Apparently making the grade is more important than values and self-respect to some students. In two separate states, students are being accused of paying teachers or school staff for better grades or academic favors. In California at Diablo Valley College in the San Francisco Bay area, over 60 people may be charged with giving and accepting gifts in exchange for higher grades.
